How to take better care of your hair
If you are experiencing hair loss, you will want to immediately rectify the problem to stop it in it's tracks. Genetics, illnesses, and situations such as stress are all reasons for hair loss but it doesn't stop there. There are also physical and environmental factors to take into consideration and in these instances, your hair will put out what you put in. Take care of your hair with gentle styling tools and techniques and your hair will thank you for it. Follow a regimen that includes nurturing products and use them regularly according to product directions.
Ways to prevent or reduce losing your hair
Avoid using practices that will snap the hair, cause it to tangle, or cause the hair to rub against rough surfaces. Examples of this includes hair accessories that are too tight, improper detangling, and clothing that snags the hair. Does that mean you have to get rid of your favorite sweater? No, but you will want to keep the hair from rubbing against that sweater. Taking out hair extensions? Make sure you remain patient and set aside enough time to properly remove the extensions. If you're in a rush, chances are you will become frustrated and improperly detangle the hair which can result in hair loss.
What you can do about it
Since we do not provide medical advice, always remember to consult with your physician if you are experiencing hair loss. Your physician will be able to provide you with professional consultation and guidance. That aside, there are herbal techniques that have been widely used as treatments including jojoba oil and henna. I've outlined a few others below:
Saw Palmetto Extract
Saw Palmetto is a natural ingredient, which reduces the level of DHT, thus stopping and reversing hair loss. Women on oral contraceptives or hormone therapy should not take Saw Palmetto.
Rosemary
A very aromatic essential oil, rosemary stimulates the scalp and strengthens the hair. You can use rosemary oil to make a simple herbal mix with olive oil or use the rosemary with your other favorite oils in recipes.
Aloe Vera
Known for its use with burns and skin irritations, it has been used by Native Americans for many years to promote healthy scalp conditions and hair regrowth by balancing the pH level of the scalp.
Losing hair is never an easy situation to deal with. There are plenty of hair replacement or hair restoration procedures to combat losing hair.
